General Information

Where are these programs offered?

Currently, HCL Talentcare has a state-of-the-art training facility in Hyderabad and Chennai.

Will I earn a stipend during training?

You will be entitled to out-of-pocket expenses during the on-job training.

How often are these programs held?

We have new batches starting each month and through the year.


What is the eligibility for your programs?

For YEP, you must have a B.E. / B.Tech, M. Tech or MCA degree. For YGP you must have a graduation degree (B.Sc/ BCA/ etc.). To apply for any of the courses you must be less than 25 years of age.

Can I apply for YEP if I am currently working?

Yes, provided you have worked for under a year in your role after completing your engineering successfully.

I am in the final year of college. Can I apply for YEP?

Yes, you are eligible for YEP provided you satisfy the age criterion. However, you would need to qualify through your scores in engineering (minimum 60%) as well as Standard 10 and 12 (minimum 60%).

Do you offer training for non-engineering graduates?

Yes, our Young Graduate Program (YGP) is specially designed for non-engineering graduates seeking careers in IT, Banking & Insurance sectors. To know more about YGP, please call (toll free) 1800 103 6387.

Do I need to write a test to get into your program?

Yes, you need to write an admission test to qualify for YEP & YGP. You are required to clear the minimum cut-off to qualify for admission.

How soon after I apply can I appear for the test?

In case you are part of the HCL TalentCare testing process at your college campus, you would have to take the test immediately. However, if you have filled out the application form on our website outside the regular campus process, you would need to wait for HCL TalentCare to contact you about your eligibility and the date / venue for your test.

Testing and Assessment

How will I be assessed for admission to your program?

You will have to take a test that would help us assess your JQ® (Jobability Quotient®). This test comprises sections with questions to measure your quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability and spoken english.

What is JQ®?

Jobability Quotient® or JQ® is a composite measure developed by HCL TalentCare to assess and benchmark all the skills and capabilities that you require to be successful in a specific job role. JQ® helps to measure and identify your areas of strength and dimensions that need improvement by benchmarking them against relevant job requirements.

Where will I take the test?

You could take the test at your own college campus or at a test center. All you need to do is to specify your preference in the application form on our website and HCL TalentCare will take care of the rest.

Can I choose the place where I take the test?

If you are part of your college campus drive, then the test would be conducted on campus. If you are not applying to us through a campus-drive, then your test location will be decided by HCL TalentCare. Please fill out the application form to help us schedule the test for you.

How many times in a year do you conduct these tests?

The tests are conducted throughout the year.

What books can I read to prepare for the test? 

Candidates are advised to use preparation materials similar to those used for graduate admissions to engineering colleges.

What are the factors considered in making an offer of admission?

Offers are made to candidates who clear the minimum cut-off, followed by their performance in the counselling session. Specifically, we require all our students to demonstrate reasonable quantitative aptitude, technical understanding and English language skills. Certifications and relevant experience are added advantages for admission.


How much does the Young Engineer Program cost?

The Young Engineer Program costs Rs. 200,000.

What is the payment schedule?

The student should pay Rs. 40,000 within 7 days of receiving the offer of admission. The balance must be paid before joining the program.

What kind of financial assistance do you provide for the program?

We facilitate financial assistance through banks and financial institutions to fund up to 80% of the fee value at very attractive interest rates.

Does the course fee include boarding and lodging?

No, the course fee does not include cost of boarding and lodging. The candidate is expected to bear these expenses separately.

What certificates would I need to present at admission?

You would need to produce your Standard 10 and 12 original mark-sheets. You would also be required to carry your updated UG/PG mark-sheets.

Course and Curriculum

At the end of the course, what certifications will I receive?

The course offers a bundle of market-accepted certifications covering technical, professional and English language skills such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco and other top-of-the-line certifications.

Will the course help me with English?

The course is designed to teach English through online practice, speaking exercises and classroom teaching.

How will YEP be personalized for me?

YEP is designed to provide you regular updates on your performance, the classes you have completed and the areas where improvement is required.

How often will I be assessed during the course?

Apart from the periodic assessment at the end of each module, there will be two mid-term assessments and one term-end assessment at the end of the 3-month campus training.

Will my JQ® definitely improve at the end of the course?

Our academic design, rigor and emphasis on industry-relevant skills expected of a job-ready professional (technical competence, workplace professional skills, role-readiness, industry exposure, communication skills, certification and internships) will ensure that you graduate with a significant enhancement in your JQ®.

What other certifications will I receive after the course?

After the completion of the curriculum, HCL TalentCare will mentor you over three years to ensure that your career progression is consistent. This will be done through continuous knowledge enhancements. You will have the option to upgrade yourself through a relevant advanced certification.

Are these certifications industry-recognized?

All certifications offered by HCL TalentCare are best-in-class and recognized. They are in demand by a wide range of companies.

On-Board Facilities

Are there hostel facilities on campus?

We do offer residential facilities in Hyderabad and Chennai.

What recreation facilities do you offer on campus?

We offer facilities for sports such as table-tennis, badminton, pool or billiards.

What medical facilities are available?

We have a medical room on campus which is staffed by a qualified nurse. There are hospitals within a 1-km radius of our campus.

Is there WiFi on campus?

Yes, both our Chennai and Hyderabad campuses are WiFi-enabled.
